Well well.
I'm bored.

Nothing to do at home, no shows to watch at home.
I'm just very bored at home.

Well I can't wait for December to come!
It's tomorrow.

Yupp, the new Computer is coming~~
Heh.

And the walls still have not been painted.
Dratts.

Wonder when they are gonna get it done.
Sighh.

I'll just have to wait I suppose.

My my.
What a boring day.

I have the urge to go and sleep now.
But it's like 6.42pm and dinner is near.

Sighh.
Sleep or not?

Guess not.
Well, I think we're going to learn how to play a guitar.

How fun, really.
But we haven't decided on the place and stuff yet.

So well, see first.
Hopefully we will learn it.

I'm bored, everyone's bored.
Tsz Pui went to Hong Kong, wonder if he will come online.

Still waiting for news about the appeal.
I hope it'll get through!!

Wish me luck!

Well, I appealed.
From the lousy 22 people F class to the hopefully I will get in C class.

Let's just hope that it will get through.
Can't stand being in that class.

Oh right, time to post pictures up again!
This time it's Igna's birthday pictures, thought there isn't many.

Was too lazy to do it earlier but I got the time now!
So here it is!

But you should get the things we did, right?

Ok, this totally sucks.
I got streamed to 3F!!!

WTF!
Why can't I just get into some double science class at least??

Why can't I get into 3C.
This is driving me nutts to my butt.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
I just REALLY hope that my appeal this monday will work.

HONESTLY, I hope.
Sighhhhh.

3F next year is such a loser class.
There's like 22 people in it.

And out of that, there's like 5 guys and lots of people we can get along with.
And guess what, Evonne, Fang Lynn, Chee Yang and I got into that class.

How fortunate.
BOO.

Shit this bloody fucking school.
It's full of crap.

They can't even get the streaming things right.
I hate it.

AHHHHHHH.

Chee yang would kill you had you touched his Mickey.
Even touching it is a serious offence let alone playing with it.

He just doesn't feel secured as long as his Mickey is in someone else's hands.

Yeapp.
He pulled F.L's hair just because she played with it.

He could have killed Shaun just because Shaun let his Mickey slide down the slide.
And not only that, Shaun even said,"Let Mickey play with the slide" and "It's just a bag of cotton wool"

Chee Yang, almost stabbed him to death man!
That's what he would do for his Mickey.

Amazing eh?
He usually wouldn't act up for other things, but for his soft toy which he had for years, he could kill.

NAH.
Just exaggerating.

But it's something like that.
Yeah.

Hmm, nothing much happened after the 3 something food event.
Yeah.

I watched F.L play some game called Fatal Frame or something like that.
Freaked the hell out of me.

It was like some horror cartoon in a form of a game.
It was really scary.

And since the guys know how scared we were[well they were sitting behind us while we sat in front of the T.V] Igna just had to say 'BOOOOO!' really loudly and made Fang Lynn and I jump in our seats.

Yaya, but we weren't the only ones scared, apparently Chee Yang was quite scared too but didn't really show it.

Oh yeah and yeaterday night, F.L suggested we watch a horror movie but Chee Yang said he wasn't into them.
We asked why, he said that he wasn't scared but he just couldn't sleep well after that.

Well, isn't that the same thing?

So yeah, scary game.

And guess what?
I managed to not sleep up till now which is like 10.30 am.

No sleep from yesterday 11 am to today 10.30 am.
That's almost 24 hours already!

Hmm not bad.
Currently: Shaun, Kenneth and Fang Lynn are sleeping like piggies on the floor.
Evonne is playing with Aloysious and Igna's sister whose name I do not know that Kung Fu Chaos again, for the thousandth time since we came.
We're addicted to this game, seriously.

We all played till our fingers ached and turned a little bluish.

Wei Lun is playing some game on the computer and Igna is trying to get his toilet door fixed.
And I'm blogging, obviuosly.

Oh and we made friends with Igna's girlfriend.
She's nice, really.

Her name's Louisa and she's from choir.
Hmm, choir, nvm.

Anyway, I think we were the only ones who actually bothered to make friends with her besides Igna's younger siblings.
That's how bad the boys from our class are.
Suckers.

Yeah, the guys didn't talk much to us.
We got through the entire time entertaining ourself by playing Dai Dee and playing the Kung Fu Chaos.

Aloysious was a great source of entertainment.
He taught us how to play games like Kung Fu Chaos and Pictionary which we had a lot of fun playing.

The guys just played their games on the computer.
Yeah.

So that's how we spent most of the time there, with the occasional talks and Kenneth playing with us and stuff, but other than that, nothing much.

Well, lunch was weird.
We had difficulty waking Kenneth up.

He was in dreamland man!
We threw stuff on him but he would just take them and hug them.

Even when the guys dragged him up, he would immmediately drop back down to sleep.
He was driving us insane.

Something else happened but I promised not to write about it :]

So..
We had chicken rice which was rather bad for lunch.

It was dry and the rice was hard, typical bad plate of chicken rice.
And the Ice-cream, though we knew was an expensive one, wasn't much to our liking.

It was Mocha with Almonds.
I'm fine with coffee but nuts in ice-cream, no thanks.

So yeah, we all ate our lunch little by little and finally couldn't take it and tied it up and threw it away.
I did that too.

Couldn't take it anymore, it was just not appetising at all.
Eck`

So after lunch we were back to doing our usual stuff.
Somehow, Shaun and Wei Lun went on to sleep.
But Wei Lun woke up a while later.

Fang Lynn, Evonne and I played a few rounds of Dai dee then Aloysious joined us.
He was not bad I must say even for a 10 year old like him.

Then after we got sick of the game, he suggested we play Pictionary.
And that was a good idea.

We played till we were so happy and soon it was almost 3 already.
By that time we could hear Shaun snoring and we were all laughing at him.

I had to go to Orchard to meet my sister and asked the rest whether they wanted to go to the MRT with me.

So they all agreed.
As usual we had problems waking up the Sleepy-heads.

We tried lots of methods, shake him, make lots of noise, irritate him but he still wouldn't budge so after about 10 minutes or so of trying, he finally gave in I think and decided to awake from his beauty sleep.

Well, then we went downstairs.
The guys walked straight out of the gate to get some soccer ball that had gone over the day before.

So we went into the house to wait for them to finish.
We waited for about 5-10 minutes then finally decided to call them after realising that they weren't there anymore.

Well, they left without us.
And sure they regretted it I hope.

Minutes after they told us they went off[actually we called them] the maid came driving in and we asked for her to drive us to the MRT.

So Yay!
No need to walk.

See, that's what they got for leaving without us, a VERY long walk to the MRT.
Haha, we reached the MRT effortlessly while the guys had to walk.

Hehehehehehe.
Neat.

consider getting lost

Well, it's like 3.29 in the morning right now.
And I'm sitting here in Igna's room blogging, right.

So, everyone is still awake.
Everyone as in Evonne, Fang Lynn, Kenneth, Chee Yang, Shaun, Wei Lun, Igna and I.

Yeah, these were the only bunch of people who could or wanted to stay over.
Right, let's talk about the party today.

It was probably one of the worst party we ever had.
Yeap, I'm not lying.

For the first time Julia, Evonne, Fang Lynn and I came early and the party turned out wrong.
Hmm, how queer.

So we reached Igna's house at around 4.50 which was rather early considering that we usually turn up like 1 or 2 hours later than the expected time.

So yeah, we were the only girls there.
It was only later on that we learnt that the rest of the girls weren't coming.

Yeap, we were the only girls from our class that was gning to be present.
How sad.

These girls are traitors.
Just because Serene's birthday is the next day doesn't mean that they can not come and stay somewhere else to plan her party which was the next day.

I mean, come on they still have like how long to go plan her crazy party, they could just go out and tada, party planned.
They could still come to Igna's irthday party, it's not like he's still staying in Singapore for long.

These girls really ah.
I bet they just didn't want to give him a present or something.

But well, what can I say, many others didn't come too.
People like Ali, Darence, Izhaq, Jillene and gang and co.

It's like, how can they?!
Igna came back just to celebrate his birthday or something with us and they just decide not to come.

So much for class spirit.

Currently: Chatting online with Evonne and F.L
I know it's lame but yeah, fun what!?
F.L showing Kenneth and Chee yang Darlene's new "beautiful" hairstyle.
They were saying something about getting nightmares after seeing it.

Heh.

So, being the only four girls present, we didn't really join the guys in much we did.
When we played cards and ate chocolates, they swam.

While they ate, we swam.
While they played and bathed, we ate.

So yeah.
By the time we bathed and got changed to clean clothes, most of them were going home already.

Actually the reason why we didn't go into the pool with them was also actually we saw a big bunch of them topless and we didn't want to disgust ourselves so we decided not to go near the pool till they cleared.

Yeah, the food was good, esp the chicken stuffed with some weird stuffing.
I saw some spring onions in it. Heh :]

So yeah, we made peace with Aloysious, Igna's younge rmore violent brother.
He's actually quite fun.

He taught us how to play some 'Kung Fu Chaos' or something like that.
He's good really.

Quite patient and not a bad teacher considering that he's like how many years younger than us.
Yeah.

Know what, I got nothing else to blog about.
Well wait till I get home tomorrow then I'll update about what happened after I blogged.

HAH.
Came back not too long ago from TAMPINES MALL.

Yes I went all the way there because someone suggested going but in the end didn't turn up.
Stupid Kabeer, bash you up tomorrow.

Well, we went there to get a present for Igna.
Yupp, it's his birthday tomorrow.

So, Julia and I met at TM at 12.
Because Kabeer couldn't come, Tsz Pui was the only boy, again.

But anyway he came late, at around 12.25 or something like that.
So, we walked around to find something nice for Igna but without success.

Then we went to eat our lunch.
we actually wanted to eat the Dim Sum at some shop but it was too expensive so we looked at the Pizza Hut menu and well it was cheap but in the end we decided on Mos Burger.

Yumm yumm.
We went down to the basement and only did I realise that it's really been a long time since I last came to TM.

The basement was totally different.
There were so many new shops all over.

We had a hard time finding the Mos Burger because it seems to me that it's really been a long time since we three came to TM.
But we did find the shop and ate our lunch.

Because we couldn't find anything in TM, we decided to go over to Century Square.
But before that, we went into a few watch shops but found that it was far too expensive.

The watches were like $200++ or $400++.
Obviously we can never afford that.

With all our money added up, we have about $160 or somewhere there.
So yeah, we went to CS and walked into the Metro.

Right in front of us was the watch department.
So we looked around for a while.

Then Julia and I saw a rather nice watch that was $155.
Not too bad, we can afford.

But still it was rather expensive.
So we waited till the other guys reached before making a decision.

And boy, lucky we did that.
Kennth said that the watch was well, too mature for Igna.

Actually he said the watch was so 'Ah Pek'.
Yes that's the word he used.

It wasn't that old what!
Ehhhh.

So the salesperson recommended another more 'younger' looking watch.
And so we got that.

$135 off our pockets.
But luckily for us, we met a really good salesperson, she offered to lend us her CS carrd which entittled us to get a 10% discount!

Yipeeeee!
So the bill was $121.50 instead.

Shared among four people, Julia, Kabeer, Tsz Pui and I.
HAH.

$30 off each person's pocket.
Not too bad considering the amount of money he had to pay to get us our class T-shirts and for the catering whenever we had a party at his house.

At least we got him something.

Hmm, what should I write..
Apparently this holiday has nothing nice or interesting in it.

OK, so today my mom brought us shopping for a digital camera, great.
We went to Parkway which was mightly far from my house[??] just to get to the Harvey Norman there.

So we got into the shop and stepped out with $6300 worth of things.
My goodness, see how much my mom spends in one shop.

Well, she bought a TV, a digital camera, a DVD player and some wire for the TV.
It's amazing the way she spends.

This is the camera she bought, Sony Cyber-Shot T5.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It's nice, yeah.
I'm amazed.
But who can blame her, we need it.

Ahh whatever.
Should be busy for the whole of next week, giving the house a new coat of paint, all in different colours :]

But no, I'm not involved in painting, I got to go pack my stuff to make way for the painting.
Well, guess this would be one of the most interesting events for this whole holiday?!

Oh well.

Our lawyer made us change the name of this song so we wouldn't get sued
Fall Out Boy

Brothers and sisters put this record down
Take my advice 'cause we are bad news
We will leave you high and dry
It's not worth the hearing you'll lose
It's just past 8:00 and I'm feeling young and reckless

The ribbon on my wrist says:
"Do not open before Christmas"

We're only liars, but we're the best
We're only good for the latest trend
We're only good so you can have almost famous friends
Besides we've got such good fashion sense

Brothers and sisters-put these words down
Into your notebook, spit lines like these:
"We're good friends only when you're on your knees"
Make them dance like we were shooting their feet

It's just past 8:00 and I'm feeling young and reckless
The ribbon on my wrist says:
"Do not open before Christmas"

We're only liars, but we're the best
We're only good for the latest trend
We're only good so you can have almost famous friends
Besides we've got such good fashion sense

We're only liars, but we're the best
We're only good for the latest trend

We're only liars, but we're the best
We're only good for the latest trend
We're only good so you can have almost famous friends
Besides we've got such good fashion sense

-----

Unfortunately due to some idiotic problems with the darn pogramme, I am unable to upload the song and thus, you will have to find the song yourself.

Thank you.

Fortunately, I managed to uplaod the song, so good for you.

Right, since I'm really bored, I'll just post up some short story that I like.
Yupp.

Man from the south
Roald Dahl

It was getting on toward six o'clock so I thought I'd buy myself a beer and go out and sit in a deck chair by the swimming pool and have a little evening sun.

I went to the bar and got the beer and carried it outside and wandered down the garden toward the pool.

It was a fine garden with lawns and beds of azaleas and tall coconut palms, and the wind was blowing strongly through the tops of the palm trees making the leaves hiss and crackle as though they were on fire. I could see the clusters of big brown nuts handing down underneath the leaves.

There were plenty of deck chairs around the swimming pool and there were white tables and huge brightly colored umbrellas and sunburned men and women sitting around in bathing suits. In the pool itself there were three or four girls and about a dozen boys, all splashing about and making a lot of noise and throwing a large rubber ball at one another.

I stood watching them. The girls were English girls from the hotel. The boys I didn't know about, but they sounded American and I thought they were probably naval cadets who'd come ashore from the U.S. naval training vessel which had arrived in the harbor that morning.

I went over and sat down under a yellow umbrella where there were four empty seats, and I poured my beer and settled back comfortably with a cigarette.

It was very pleasant sitting there in the sunshine with beer and a cigarette. It was pleasant to sit and watch the bathers splashing about in the green water.

The American sailors were getting on nicely with the English girls. They'd reached the stage where they were diving under the water and tipping them up by their legs.

Just then I noticed a small, oldish man walking briskly around the edge of the pool. He was immaculately dressed in a white suit and he walked very quickly with little bouncing strides, pushing himself high up onto his toes with each step. He had on a large creamy Panama hat, and he came bouncing along the side of the pool, looking at the people and the chairs.

He stopped beside me and smiled, showing two rows of very small, uneven teeth, slightly tarnished. I smiled back.

"Excuse pleess, but may I sit here?"

"Certainly," I said. "Go ahead. "

He bobbed around to the back of the chair and inspected it for safety, then he sat down and crossed his legs. His white buckskin shows had little holes punched all over them for ventilation.

"A fine evening," he said. "They are all evenings fine here in Jamaica." I couldn't tell if the accent were Italian or Spanish, but I felt fairly sure he was some sort of a South American. And old too, when you saw him close. Probably around sixty-eight or seventy.

"Yes," I said. "It is wonderful here, isn't it."

"And who, might I ask are all dese? Dese is no hotel people." He was pointing at the bathers in the pool.

"I think they're American sailors," I told him. "They're Americans who are learning to be sailors."

"Of course dey are Americans. Who else in de world is going to make as much noise as dat? You are not American, no?"

"No," I said. "I am not."

Suddenly one of the American cadets was standing in front of us. He was dripping wet from the pool and one of the English girls was standing there with him.

"Are these chairs taken?" he said.

"No," I answered.

"Mind if I sit down?"

"Go ahead."

"Thanks," he said. He had a towel in his hand and when he sat down he unrolled it and produced a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He offered the cigarettes to the girl and she refused; then he offered them to me and I took one. The little man said, "Tank you, no, but I tink I have a cigar." He pulled out a crocodile case and got himself a cigar, then he produced a knife which had a small scissors in it and he snipped the end off the cigar.

"Here, let me give you a light." The American boy held up his lighter.

"Dat will not work in dis wind."

"Sure, it'll work. It always works."

The little man removed his unlighted cigar from his mouth, cocked his head on one side and looked at the boy.

"All-ways?" he said softly.

"Sure, it never fails. Not with me anyway."

The little man's head was still cocked over on one side and he was still watching the boy. "Well, well. So you say dis famous lighter it never fails. Iss dat you say?"

"Sure," the boy said. "That's right."He was about nineteen or twenty with a long freckled face and a rather sharp birdlike nose. His chest was not very sunburned and there were freckles there too, and a few wisps of pale-reddish hair. He was holding the lighter in his right hand, ready to flip the wheel. "It never fails," he said, smiling now because he was purposely exaggerating his little boast. "I promise you it never fails."

"One momint, pleess." The hand that held the cigar came up high, palm outward, as though it were stopping traffic. "Now juss one momint."He had a curiously soft, toneless voice and he kept looking at the boy all the time.

"Shall we not perhaps make a little bet on dat?" He smiled at the boy. "Shall we not make a little bet on whether your lighter lights?"

"Sure, I'll bet," the boy said. "Why not?"

"You like to bet?"

"Sure, I'll always bet."

The man paused and examined his cigar, and I must say I didn't much like the way he was behaving. It seemed he was already trying to make something out of this, and to embarrass the boy, and at the same time I had the feeling he was relishing a private little secret all his own.

He looked up again at the boy and said slowly, "I like to bet, too. Why we don't have a good bet on dis ting? A good big bet?"

"Now wait a minute," the boy said. "I can't do that. But I'll bet you a dollar, or whatever it is over here-some shillings, I guess."

The little man waved his hand again. "Listen to me. Now we have some fun. We make a bet. Den we go up to my room here in de hotel where iss no wind and I bet you you cannot light dis famous lighter of yours ten times running without missing once."

"I'll bet I can," the boy said.

"All right. Good. We make a bet, yes?"

"Sure. I'll bet you a buck."

"No, no. I make you very good bet. I am rich man and I am sporting man also. Listen to me. Outside de hotel iss my car. Iss very fine car. American car from your country. Cadillac-"

"Hey, now. Wait a minute." The boy leaned back in his deck chair and he laughed. "I can't put up that sort of property. This is crazy."

"Not crazy at all. You strike lighter successfully ten times running and Cadillac is yours. You like to have dis Cadillac, yes?"

"Sure, I'd like to have a Cadillac." The boy was still grinning.

"All right. Fine. We make a bet and I put up my Cadillac."

"And what do I put up?"

The little man carefully removed the red band from his still unlighted cigar. "I never ask you, my friend, to bet something you cannot afford. You understand?"

"Then what do I bet?"

"I make it very easy for you, yes?"

"Okay. You make it easy."

"Some small ting you can afford to give away, and if you did happen to lose it you would not feel too bad. Right?"

"Such as what?"

"Such as, perhaps, de little finger of your left hand."

"My what!"The boy stopped grinning.

"Yes. Why not? You win, you take de car. You looss, I take de finger."

"I don't get it. How d'you mean, you take the finger?"

"I chop it off."

"Jumping jeepers! That's a crazy bet. I think I'll just make it a dollar."

The man leaned back, spread out his hands palms upward and gave a tiny contemptuous shrug of the shoulders. "Well, well, well," he said. "I do not understand. You say it lights but you will not bet. Den we forget it, yes?"

The boy sat quite still, staring at the bathers in the pool. Then he remembered suddenly he hadn't lighted his cigarette. He put it between his lips, cupped his hands around the lighter and flipped the wheel. The wick lighted and burned with a small, steady, yellow flame and the way he held his hands the wind didn't get to it at all.

"Could I have a light, too?" I said.

"Gee, I'm sorry. I forgot you didn't have one."

I held out my hand for the lighter, but he stood up and came over to do it for me.

"Thank you," I said, and he returned to his seat.

"You having a good time?" I asked.

"Fine,"he answered. "It's pretty nice here."

There was a silence then, and I could see that the little man has succeeded in disturbing the boy with his absurd proposal. He was sitting there very still, and it was obvious that a small tension was beginning to build up inside him. Then he started shifting about in his seat, and rubbing his chest, and stroking the back of his neck, and finally he placed both hands on his knees and began tapping his fingers against his knee-caps. Soon he was tapping with one of his feet as well.

"Now just let me check up on this bet of yours," he said at last. "You say we go up to your room and if I make this lighter light ten times running I win a Cadillac. If it misses just once then I forfeit the little finger of my left hand. Is that right?"

"Certainly. Dat is de bet. But I tink you are afraid."

"What do we do if I lose? Do I have to hold my finger out while you chop it off?"

"Oh, no! Dat would be no good. And you might be tempted to refuse to hold it out. What I should do I should tie one of your hands to de table before we started and I should stand dere with a knife ready to go chop de momint your lighter missed."

"What year is the Cadillac?" the boy asked

"Excuse. I not understand."

"What year-how old is the Cadillac?"

"Ah! How old? Yes. It is last year. Quite now car. But I see you are not betting man. Americans never are."

The boy paused for just a moment and he glanced first at the English girl, then at me. "Yes," he said sharply. "I'll bet you."

"Good!" The little man clapped his hands together quietly, once. "Fine," he said. "We do it now. And you, sir," he turned to me, "you would perhaps be good enough to, what you call it, to-to referee." He had pale, almost colorless eyes with tiny bright black pupils.

"Well," I said. "I think it's a crazy bet. I don't think I like it very much."

"Nor do I," said the English girl. It was the first time she'd spoken. "I think it's a stupid, ridiculous bet."

"Are you serious about cutting off this boy's finger if he loses?" I said.

"Certainly I am. Also about cutting off this boy's finger if he loses?"I said.

"Certainly I am. Also about giving him Cadillac if he win. Come now. We go to my room."

He stood up. "You like to put on some clothes first?" he said.

"No," the boy answered. "I'll come like this." Then he turned to me. "I'd consider it a favor if you'd come along and referee."

"All right," I said. "I'll come along, but I don't like the bet."

"You come too," he said to the girl. "You come and watch."

The little man led the way back through the garden to the hotel. He was animated now, and excited, and that seemed to make him bounce up higher than ever on his toes as he walked along.

"I live in annex," he said. "You like to see car first? Iss just here."

He took us to where we could see the front driveway of the hotel and he stopped and pointed to a sleek pale-green Cadillac parked close by.

"Dere she iss. De green one. You like?"

"Say, that's a nice car," the boy said.

"All right. Now we go up and see if you can win her."

We followed him into the annex and up one flight of stairs. He unlocked his door and we all trooped into what was a large pleasant double bedroom. There was a woman's dressing gown lying across the bottom of one of the beds.

"First," he said, "we'ave a little Martini."

The drinks were on a small table in the far corner, all ready to be mixed, and there was a shaker and ice and plenty of glasses. He began to make the Martini, but meanwhile he'd rung the bell and now there was a knock on the door and a colored maid came in.

"Ah!" he said, putting down the bottle of gin, taking a wallet from his pocket and pulling out a pound note. "You will do something for me now, pleess." He gave the maid the pound.

"You keep dat," he said. "And now we are going to play a little game in here and I want you to go off and find for me two-no three tings. I want some nails; I want a hammer, and I want a chopping knife, a butcher's chopping knife which you can borrow from de kitchen. You can get, yes?"

"A chopping knife!" The maid opened her eyes wide and clasped her hands in front of her. "You mean a real chopping knife?"

"Yes, yes, of course. Come on now, pleess. You can find dose tings surely for me."

"Yes, sir, I'll try, sir. Surely I'll try to get them." And she went.

The little man handed round the Martinis. We stood there and sipped them, the boy with the long freckled face and the pointed nose, bare-bodied except for a pair of faded brown bathing shorts; the English girl, a large-boned, fair-haired girl wearing a pale blue bathing suit, who watched the boy over the top of her glass all the time; the little man with the colorless eyes standing there in his immaculate white suit drinking his Martini and looking at the girl in her pale blue bathing dress. I didn't know what to make of it all. The man seemed serious about the bet and he seemed serious about the business of cutting off the finger. But hell, what if the boy lost? Then we'd have to rush him to the hospital in the Cadillac that he hadn't won. That would be a fine thing. Now wouldn't that be a really find thing? It would be a damn silly unnecessary thing so far as I could see.

"Don't you think this is rather a silly bet?" I said.

"I think it's a fine bet," the boy answered. He had already downed one large Martini.

"I think it's a stupid, ridiculous bet," the girl said. "What'll happen if you lose?"

"It won't matter. Come to think of it, I can't remember ever in my life having had any use for the little finger on my left hand. Here he is." The boy took hold of the finger. "Here he is and he hasn't ever done a thing for me yet. So why shouldn't I bet him. I think it's a fine bet."

The little man smiled and picked up the shaker and refilled our glasses.

"Before we begin," he said, "I will present to de-to de referee de key of de car." He produced a car key from his pocket and gave it to me. "De papers," he said, "de owning papers and insurance are in de pocket of de car."

Then the colored maid came in again. In one hand she carried a small chopper, the kind used by butchers for chopping meat bones, and in the other a hammer and a bag of nails.

"Good! You get dem all. Tank you, tank you. Now you can go." He waited until the maid had closed the door, then he put the implements on one of the beds and said, "Now we prepare ourselves, yes?" And to the boy "Help me, pleess, with dis table. We carry it out a little."

It was the usual kind of hotel writing desk, just a plain rectangular table about four feet by three with a blotting pad, ink, pens and paper. They carried it out into the room away from the wall, and removed the writing things.

"And now," he said, "a chair." He picked up a chair and placed it beside the table. He was very brisk and very animated, like a person organizing games at a children's party. "And now de nails. I must put in de nails." He fetched the nails and he began to hammer them into the top of the table.

We stood there, the boy, the girl, and I, holding Martinis in out hands, watching the little man at work. We watched him hammer two nails into the table, about six inches apart. He didn't hammer them right home; he allowed a small part of each one to stick up. Then he tested them for firmness with his fingers.

Anyone would think the son of a bitch had done this before, I told myself. He never hesitates. Table, nails, hammer, kitchen chopper. He knows exactly what he needs and how to arrange it.

"And now," he said, "all we want is some string." He found some string. "All right, at last we are ready. Will you pleess to sit here at de table," he said to the boy.

The boy put his glass away and sat down.

"Now place de left hand between dese two nails. De nails are only so I can tie your hand in place. All right, good. Now I tie your hand secure to de table-so,"

He wound the string around the boy's wrist, then several times around the wide part of the hand, then he fastened it tight to the nails. He made a good job of it and when he'd finished there wasn't any question about the boy being able to draw his hand away. But he could move his fingers.

"Now pleess, clench de fist, all except for de little finger. You must leave de little finger sticking out, lying on de table."

"Ex-cellent! Ex-cellent! Now we are ready. Wid your right hand you manipulate de lighter. But one momint, pleess."

He skipped over to the bed and picked up the chopper. He came back and stood beside the table with the chopper in his hand.

"We are all ready?" he said. "Mister referee, you must say to begin."

The English girl was standing there in her pale blue bathing costume right behind the boy's chair. She was just standing there, not saying anything. The boy was sitting quite still, holding the lighter in his right hand, looking at the chopper. The little man was looking at me.

"Are you ready?" I asked the boy.

"I'm ready."

"And you?" to the little man.

"Quite ready," he said and he lifted the chopper up in the air and held it there about two feet above the boy's finger, ready to chop. The boy watched it, but he didn't flinch and his mouth didn't move at all. He merely raised his eyebrows and frowned.

"All right," I said. "Go ahead."

The boy said, "Will you please count aloud the number of times I light it."

"Yes," I said. "I'll do that."

With his thumb he raised the top of the lighter, and again with the thumb he gave the wheel a sharp flick. The flint sparked and the wick caught fire and burned with a small yellow flame.

"One!" I called.

He didn't blow the flame out; he closed the top of the lighter on it and he waited for perhaps five seconds before opening it again.

He flicked the wheel very strongly and once more there was a small flame burning on the wick.

"Two!"

No one else said anything. The boy kept his eyes on the lighter. The little man held the chipper up in the air and he too was watching the lighter.

"Three!"

"Four!"

"Five!"

"Six!"

"Seven!" Obviously it was one of those lighters that worked. The fling gave a big spark and the wick was the right length. I watched the thumb snapping the top down onto the flame. Then a pause. Then the thumb raising the top once more. This was an all-thumb operation. The thumb did everything. I took a breath, ready to say eight. The thumb flicked the wheel. The flint sparked. The little flame appeared.

"Eight!" I said, and as I said it the door opened. We all turned and we saw a woman standing in the doorway, a small, black-haired woman, rather old, who stood there for about two seconds then rushed forward shouting, "Carlos! Carlos!" She grabbed his wrist, took the chopper from him, threw it on the bed, took hold of the little man by the lapels of his white suit and began shaking him very vigorously, talking to him fast and loud and fiercely all the time in some Spanish-sounding language. She shook him so fast you couldn't see him any more. He became a faint, misty, quickly moving outline, like the spokes of a turning wheel.

Then she slowed down and the little man came into view again and she hauled him across the room and pushed him backward onto one of the beds. He sat on the edge of it blinking his eyes and testing his head to see if it would still turn on his neck.

"I am so sorry," the woman said. "I am so terribly sorry that this should happen." She spoke almost perfect English

"It is too bad," she went on. "I suppose it is really my fault. For ten minutes I leave him alone to go and have my hair washed and I come back and he is at it again."She looked sorry and deeply concerned.

The boy was untying his hand from the table. The English girl and I stood there and said nothing.

"He is a menace," the woman said. "Down where we live at home he has taken altogether forty-seven fingers from different people, and he has lost eleven cars. In the end they threatened to have him put away somewhere. That's why I brought him up here."

"We were only having a little bet," mumbled the little man from the bed.

"I suppose he bet you a car," the woman said.

"Yes," the boy answered. "A Cadillac."

"He has no car. It's mine. And that makes it worse," she said, "that he should bet you when he has nothing to bet with. I am ashamed and very sorry about it all."She seemed an awfully nice woman.

"Well," I said, "then here's the key of your car." I put it on the table.

"We were only having a little bet,"mumbled the little man.

"He hasn't anything left to bet with," the woman said. "He hasn't a thing in the world. Not a thing. As a matter of fact I myself won it all from him a long while ago. It took time, a lot of time, and it was hard work, but I won it all in the end."She looked up at the boy and she smiled, a slow sad smile, and she came over and put out a hand to take the key from the table.

I can see it now, that hand of hers; it had only one finger on it, and a thumb.

Went out with Julia, Tsz Pui and Ming Yan on Wednesday.

Well, we expected more people to come but they all had their programmes/excuses or whatever you want to call them.

So, Kabeer couldn't come because he had to bring his grandma to the doctor.
Navin couldn't come because he was going to his friend's house.
Chee Yang was just too lazy to come.
Aiyan had to go to school.
Evonne just couldn't come.
Rico wasn't answering any of our sms or phone calls so we don't know what was happeneing.
Yong Yi didn't see Julia's sms and he didn't want to watch Emily Rose.
Amos didn't come because he dosn't watch horror movies.

SO that leaves Ming Yan, Tsz pui, Julia and I, the only four willing parties that would go.
So we just went on.

We met at 12.30 at Cityhall MRT then walked to suntec.
We met Ming Yan there and went to buy the tickets.

At first we thought MY couldn't watch because he had choir but he decided to pon, what a friend.

So we were deciding where to have our lunch and finally decided on Crystal jade.
Haha.

So we walked there well, it felt weird to be the only bunch of younger people there.
Anyway, we made Tsz Pui order our food in Cantonese, make full use of it!

The food came and we ate.
Then while walking to the theatre, we bought Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Because we got a movie to catch and food is not allowed so we requested the shop people to squeeze our three scoops of ice cream into a coffee cup.

Interesting idea, they were rather amazed by what we requested.
They even claimed "You're our first customers that ever did this!"

So honoured.

Anyway, we went in to watch the movie.
I was rather freaked out whenever the playback of the past came out.

It was always raining when something creepy happen.
Oh guess what, it's raining right now, at my house.

I'm alone at home, too.
Hmm, at least I got my cat here beside me, she freaks out when there's lightening or thunder and when it reains.

Ok, so whenever we could tell that something scary is coming up, Julia and I would grab our bags and cover our heads.

Ming Yan and Tsz Pui kept laughing at us.
Grr.

I bet they was scared too.
Oh yes they were.

Anyway, the show had some 3 am thingy.
Something about demons being most powerful at that time and stuff.

Now that freaked me out, so now whenever 3 am came, I hope I wouldn't be awake.
Hehe.

The show was okay overall, but a little hard to believe if it was suppose to be true.
Well, it depends.

Right, I know it's been a while since the NZ trip ended but it wouldn't be completely finished till I post these pictures up.

Have fun looking at them!!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
After an 11 hour long ride on the plane, beside getting numb butts, we also reached the Auckland International Airport.

Here's the bread that I bought from the bakery at Mt.Eden.

Some mushroom and cheese flavour I think.

Here's the other bread that Julia and I bought.

It's a cinnamon and caramel flavoured one.

That's how it looked at first but after that, it looked totally different.

Julia and I accidentally sat on it and it got squashed flat that we didn't dare eat it anymore, but it still smelled good.

We threw it away in the end.

That's the bag in which the bread was put in.

That's the other side of it.

That's the view of the place fromt he bus while on our way up to Mt.Eden.

There were cows and stuff along the road but didn't manged to get them.

These are the view from the top of the mountain.

You can see a large area from there.

That's the non active crater of the volcano.

See the words there.

It says 'I <3>

Here's a group photo of all the people from 2C.

From the left, Amos, Tsz Pui, Kabeer, Me, Julia, Rico, Yong Yi, Navin, Jillene, Natasha, Xiang Yu and Heather.

Here'a another group photo but without the other four girls.

Some pictures of the river of the place we went to after that.

Picture of the chicken that posed for us whenever someonewanted to take a picture of it.

It's feathers were so shiny that I was tempted to pluck it off, but alas I didn't.

That's the swaying bridge that we had to cross, it had a maximum of 10 on it per time.

But it was safer than it looks.

Picture of the gold mine place, that's Tsz Pui, he was walking in front of me so there's him in it!

Well, the tunnel was so dark that I couldn't even see my fingers.

I wanted to take a picture of it being really dark but forgot the flash was on so I got Tsz Pui's head instead.

As I said, couldn't see so I just happened to take a picture with kabeer in front of me.

Again, one of those pictures, except this time there's more people in it and there's an unidentified part of a face in it.

There's some part of the tunnel.

Here's a picture of the mine without people in it, finally.

This rock is quite unusual, it looked like it had worms on it but nah, those weren't worms.

Right, here's a picture of the rock close-up.

Interesting eh?

Here's a picture of some door we found on the way to the tunnels.

It used to be some doorway for the people to walk or something like that, I don't remember.

This is the supermarket in which we went to buy the stuff we needed for the entire week like water and chocolates!

Sunset of the town while we were on our way to the accommodation.

Not too clear as I took it in the bus.

Pictures of the Tauranga Beach which we went the next day early in the morning.

Had to study the coastal sand movement and stuff.

Here's a photo of the shadow of Julia and I.

Julia's on the left I'm on the right.

Just a shell that I found.

Real big and nice though.

A shell that Tsz Pui found but I stole it, heh.

This is the front of it.

This is the back of it.

We found this skeleton of a fish on the sand up real high up on the beach.

Cool but stupid fish, see what happens when you swim too far out.

This was another beach we went to.

We did the 3D thing here, yupp.

Well there were seagulls everywhere and some sitting along this row of wooden things.

Seagulls in NZ = Crows in singapore.

We were on a hill, here's a scene of the area from the hill, doesn't look high up due to the green grass.

It made the hill look like it wasn't high, dratts.

Yupp and from the hill you could see this island and we had to do some discussion on building hotels on this island.

Dumb discussion.

Look! That's a enormous turtle emerging from the water!

Nah, just a big piece of rock that looks like it.

That's Amos with all the grass on his back.

We put it there but I think he didn't care as he was being moody, well he was like that during the whole trip.

Random photo of Kabeer.

Took it while he was trying to shun the camera, but thanks to my wonderful skills, I got him perfectly.

He looks funny in the photo though.

That's what we had for lunch, four pizzas!

Yumm yumm!!

Here's 2 pictures of the all rounder shitting machines we saw on our way up Mt.Maunganui.

Pictures of a seal we found that was sleeping on the rocks on rocky shore.

View from almost the top of Mt.Mauganui.

We climbed all the way up with nothign but our feet, cool eh?

We went to some waterfall place the next day.

Didn't take many pictures because of the activities we had to do.

We stopped at this part of the waterfall while on our way to another place.

It's really pretty if you get to see it yourself.

Well we went to the Estury and here's a picture of my feet after we took off our shoes and jumped around like we were crazy.

It doesn't look that filthy here but whoa, it was bad.

We went to Te Puke high school the next day.

Yupp.

Right, here's a picture of Julia, me and Rico in a kiwi fruit-like cart. You could somehow see what it's like from the other carts at the back.

Notice we're all wearing black shirts, well that's the hideous shirt that Hui Qi designed.I wore my jacket the whole day so as to not be seen wearing this shirt.

Right, here's the giant kiwi that was 4 storeys high.

Here's another giant Kiwi that we saw, but this was a kiwi bird not a fruit and it was made of plastic.

This was the only kiwi bird we saw in thw whole of NZ.

That's a bunch of baby gold kiwi fruit.

Interesting.

Now that is the "FrostBoss", it is used to prevent frost from forming and ruining the kiwifruits.

We all laughed when we saw the name, frostboss.

Haha.

And this is the old sorting machine which was used to sort kiwis according to their weight.

It looked preetty old and unstable, I was afraid that it might just lose control and then fly all over the place and we might just have to go back to Singapore with Bruises on our heads.

That's the kiwis we used to juggle till they split.

Marian taught us that.

So after the kiwi farm was the Maori's place.

Got this picture just as we were about to leave the place.

That's the place where we had to sit and have the opening cremony. We had to sing the dumb school song.

Load of crap.

Top part of the building which we slept in.

These are the sides of the building.

That's some other part of the place with Navin in it.

That's the wall with lots of pictures of the ancestors of the Maori people.

Haha, pictures of the guys doing the Haka dance.

You can see Navin, Tsz Pui, Yong Yi, Rico, Kabeer and Amos.

Go laugh at them if you want.

This is a rose that I found at the garden of the place.

Nice eh??

The next day we went on to Hell's gate, you could smell the sulphur the moment you stepped out of the bus, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This was a statue outside of the place. Some Maori ancestor I guess.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

This photo was taken just because Julia and I found the web nice.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
That's the Manuka flower, unlike the honey, this flower looks nice.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
These two pictures were just taken for fun while I tried to capture the water bubbling midair but these weren't that good.

It wasn't easy you know!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
We were amused by this piece of rock as it was white on the outside but another colour on the inside.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This is a 1 metre something high mud volcano, I think I heard the guide say that this was the tallest yet.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
That's the famous Devil's cauldron in which the mud is used to make mud products that are suppose to be good for you.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This waterfall is believed to have healing powers, soaking in it is good for you.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's New Zealand's Silver fern in the not yet fully grown stage.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Now this hole here contains some very interesting sand particles that turns into some clay material when squashed together.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
And this is the result of shaking the clay material on your palm, it turns into some sort of liquidish material. It is used in making facial products because it moisturizes the skin.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Now that's Yong Yi's finger, he can bend i forward till it's like that, creepy eh. Kaber can do it too!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

These are just some pictures of the different kind of pools there, mostly they were just bubbling and have steam all around and really hot, and acidic.

Now here's another piece of rock we were amused by, it was so shiny!

Well, we are amused by little things.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's the Rotorua Museum, unfortunately this is the only picture I have of it.

We weren't allowed to take pictures in the museum so only the outside was taken.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's the view from the museum, those square shaped grass used to be sulphur pools and mud pools.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

This is one of my favourite pictures, it was a nice place but you can't really see the effects here.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

These pictures are of Lake Rotorua and Mt.Ngohgataha or however you spell it.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's me trying to show how windy it was but it didn't turn out right, hair's not messy enough but anyway, it WAS very windy.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's Keswick camp.

We stayed there while we were at Rotorua, not a bad place though.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's Julia, Steph and Tsz Pui in the canteen drinking coffee.

All of us were in sleepwear and drinking coffee at night. The coffee was good.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Now that's suppose to be a picture of out cabin but as we were in a rush, I didn't have time to take a proper one.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The next day we went on to the Waitomo caves.

That's a piece of limestone.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

You can read up a little on them.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

We went to the Waitomo Museum of caves first. Cool place.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The weird thing is that the kept an eel as a pet. Interesting, they claimed that there were eels thatwere super big in the waters of the cave.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Now that fossil is gigantic.

It was taller than me!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That's Julia and I in a fake cave, just for taking pictures,

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

So after lunch we were off to the actual cave.

That woman in the picture is Mrs Chee, she sucks.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here's a close up picture of the previous one.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

That leaf was suppose to be the foot step of the legendary Maori monster, it had sharp edges all around.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Back.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Front

This leaf is known as Bushman's toiletpaper as it was very soft.

Im sorry but you have to tilt you head, couldn't tilt the image.

Anyway, I forgot why I took this picture but it looks nice anyway.

This is another picture of the silverfern.

And yet another one.

Just a stream.

This one was about the layering of the rock I think. Forgot what it's called though.

This was suppose to be some face we saw in the tree but it's not too clear and you have to tilt your head.

This tree was kinda weird because it had this big round thing on it which looked like a tumour.

Julia and I took this picture because Tsz Pui kept asking us to take it so yeah.

Just the nice layering of the rock.

This ia another picture of the silver fern about to open into a leaf.

I like the effect.

This is another swaying bridge we had to cross.

Navin was trying with all his might to get it to move that he loooked like he was dancing, and obviously we were laughing at him.

This is a branch that you could eat if you're lost and hungry, it tastes like apple and tomato.

Here's a picture of Kabeer, he refused to do the haka tongue thingy but did this instead, Steph caught him in action.

And here we are, back in our cabin in another place.

We ade full use of the time that we slept at 2 in the morning.

Hehe, gossiping is fun.

The next day, we were off to the airport and we caught Kabeer and Amos in this scene.

It looked like they were in a drama, how interesting.

Then Kabeer walked away and there Amos was.

Episode no 1 of 'Amos in the city'.

So we were off to the plane and on our way back to Singapore.

But wait, I'm not done yet, there's one final picture..

HAHA! Yup, we caught Kabeer sleeping on the plane and took a picture of it!!

Hope he doesn't mind.
